We’re thrilled to announce our first German tree planting project! After years of successful international partnerships, ReviewForest now offers you the opportunity to plant trees in Germany through our collaboration with Niedersächsische Landesforsten.

A Local Impact for Your Reviews

Until now, your reviews have helped plant trees in Australia, Mexico, and Madagascar. While these global efforts remain vital, many of you—especially our German customers who make up a significant portion of our user base—have asked for a European planting option. We listened!

Your trees can now take root in Lower Saxony, specifically near Nienover in the beautiful Solling region. This area is part of a protected landscape and drinking water conservation zone, giving your environmental commitment additional significance in Central Europe.

Why All Our Planting Locations Matter

Our tropical planting sites in Australia, Mexico, and Madagascar remain crucial for global climate protection for several reasons:

  • Trees in tropical regions grow faster and capture carbon more quickly
  • These areas often have higher biodiversity, protecting endangered species
  • Tropical forests help regulate rainfall patterns globally
  • These regions face some of the highest deforestation pressures

With customers from Germany, Great Britain, the USA, and many other countries, we’re proud to offer both tropical and temperate planting options to maximize both immediate climate benefits and regional environmental impacts across the globe.

About Niedersächsische Landesforsten

The Niedersächsische Landesforsten manages Lower Saxony’s forests according to the principles of the LÖWE Program, ensuring sustainable, nature-oriented forest management. Their goal is to develop productive, stable, diverse, and structurally rich mixed forests.

What makes this project special:

  • 31 different tree species are being planted, with a focus on site-typical beech trees
  • The planting area was previously a spruce forest damaged by bark beetles and storms
  • The new mixed forest will be more resilient against climate change
  • The Solling forest is home to rare plants and endangered animals like lynxes and wildcats
